Poole is a town with a mix of tourism and industry. It has the largest natural harbour in Europe, Brownsea Island is one of the few sites where red squirrels survive, the beaches have won nineteen Blue Flag awards and two Premier Seaside Awards and its heathland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The town is home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Poole Pirates Speedway team and Sunseeker, the luxury motor yacht constructor. The Merck Group, the world's leading manufacturer of liquid crystals found in computers, watches and TV sets, has a centre for excellence in Poole. The RNLI also has its national headquarters in Poole and operates a fleet of lifeboats from there.

Our patrol officers provide a resilient, effective 24 hour policing capability responding to the wide range of incidents and emergencies that can occur in the area. These officers work closely with our Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) to provide an effective policing service that recognises and responds to the priorities of the community and yet is available to deal with the full spectrum of services required from the police.

The NPTs are dedicated to tackle priority crime and Anti Social Behaviour areas and consist of police officers, PCSOs and volunteers led by two dedicated Sergeants all working in close partnership with other agencies and the local communities to tackle issues and secure long term solutions.

Poole NPT will be conducting Priority surveys with the communities of Poole when we hold engagement events, or attended in support of local authority or other local events.  These questionnaires are aimed at identifying the problems and concerns which matter the most to the community.  These will be targeted and through a process of Problem Oriented Policing and Problem Solving we will work towards solving the problem.  The top three issues raised by the community will be assessed quarterly and input below.
