A TRULY beautiful slice of family drama is coming to various local venues over the coming months.

It is white winter at Avonlea when a train pulls into the station and deposits its one passenger – a small, smiling but lost girl.

Anne has bright red pigtails, a vivid imagination and a fiery spirit. When she is mistakenly sent for adoption to the Cuthberts, who wanted a boy to help at their farm, she turns a rural community upside down.

Avonlea’s newest resident is honest, wonderstruck, full of joy and infectious energy.

Join Anne and a host of memorable characters in a story about family, friendship and the fun of childhood.

Ringwood-based Forest Forge Theatre Company bring their brand new production of Anne of Green Gables, based on LM Montgomery’s bestselling novel, to several venues including Corfe Castle village hall on December 21 and other halls plus Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, in the New Year.

Featuring a host of memorable characters, this story about family, friendship and the fun of childhood comes from the same team that created The Phoenix and the Carpet and Midnight is a Place.

Artsreach spokeswoman Kerry Bartlett said: “Anne will leave you warmed with laughter. Beautiful music and the usual Forest Forge magic and mayhem will live long in the memory.”

The Corfe Castle show is at 7.30pm on December 21 and the Lighthouse Poole on February 1, 2014.
