OPINIONATED comedian Jeremy Hardy is never short of a word or two, and you can hear what he has to say about all manner of things when he comes to Poole for a date this weekend.

Never afraid to mix his passionately held beliefs and politically-informed analysis with biting topical observations, Hardy’s style skirts tetchiness, exasperation, hopeless resignation and burning rage, but is invariably delivered with a semblance of hope.

Alongside his recurring series for Radio 4, Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation and contributions to publications including The Guardian, The Independent and Red Pepper, in 2010 he published a book, My Family and Other Strangers, chronicling his desperate search for interesting ancestors.

A serious political writer as well as a seriously funny stand up, don’t be fooled by his mild mannered appearance – his satire bites.

Jeremy Hardy is at the Lighthouse in Poole on Saturday and tickets are available from 0844 406866 or lighthousepoole. co.uk
