BENNETTS WATER GARDENS CHICKERELL, WEYMOUTH
GO IN search of some peace at Bennetts Water Garden in Chickerell.
This third generation family-run business is on an eight acre site of tranquil lakes and has a world famous lily collection.
Step into a painting and soak up the atmosphere next to the Monet style bridge.
In 1959 the founder, Norman Bennett, planted the very first water lilies in the disused clay pits that was once the site of a brick works.
This provided an ideal growing area for water lilies, which have been propagated over the years for sale to public and trade alike.
There is also a cafe, a Tropical House, woodland walks and a museum.
The gardens are open 10am to 5pm daily except Saturdays.
