TWO youngsters from Bournemouth’s Swish of the Curtain Theatre School have been recruited to play the Shrunken Grannies in the Birmingham Stage Company’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine, which opens a five-day run at Lighthouse, Poole, on Tuesday.
The girls, Charlie-Jane Watts (left) and Quinn De-Vitto (right), will play George’s Granny when she shrinks having previously grown to 20ft tall after drinking George’s magic medicine.
The role will involve plenty of screaming and running around the stage, as well as the opportunity to appear as a large chicken.
Charlie, 9, recently had a role in the box office smash Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, while 10-year-old Quinn was a body-double in the blockbuster Clash of the Titans, with a cast that included Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes.
Swish of the Curtain Theatre School was established in 1991 and has schools in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch every day of the week.
