A STAR WARS film concert is coming to Bournemouth featuring iconic scores from a live orchestra.

Star Wars: A New Hope, will be touring UK arenas later this year with Oscar-winning composer John Williams’ musical score performed live to the film.

Since its release over 40 years ago, the sprawling space saga has had a seismic impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects and legendary music scores.

Fans will be able to experience the scope and grandeur of the beloved Star Wars films in a live symphonic concert experience.

Grant Watmuff, Licensing & Strategic Partnerships manager at Disney Music Group, said: “We’re delighted that Star Wars fans will have the opportunity to experience the music of the movie performed live to picture in the UK for the first time.

“From the opening fanfare to the final note, John Williams’ score for Star Wars: A New Hope is a genre defining master class of cinematic composition.”

Multi award-winning composer Williams ,is famous for scoring all eight of the Star Wars saga films, beginning with 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Original Score.

His scores for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ,each were nominated for Oscars for Best Original Score. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 15, 2017, and was the UK’s biggest film of 2017.

n The tour will visit Bournemouth International Centre on November 29. Tickets go on pre-sale on Wednesday and general sale on Friday.
