AN empty hotel in Boscombe is being transformed into Stephen King's Overlook Hotel for an immersive performance of The Shining.

The performance, a collaboration between acting, costume and performance students from the Arts University Bournemouth, will take place throughout the closed-for-winter Chine Hotel, with the audience following the characters through the story.

Director, David Glass, said: “It’s an artistic challenge and privilege to direct this immersive performance of one of the classic horror stories of the 20th century.”

“Setting the performance in this hotel will bring the story to life for the audience. It’s uncannily similar to the Outlook Hotel in The Shining story as they are both closed for winter.

“I immediately saw the potential of setting the performance in this classic seaside hotel.”

The production will run twice nightly at 6.30pm and 9pm from February 9 to 18, excluding Sunday, February 12.

Limited tickets are available costing £10 per person or £8 for concessions by going to Aub.ac.uk/boxoffice
