TWO stars from BBC soap opera EastEnders will be stepping out of the square and onto the Bournemouth Pavilion stage this Christmas.

This year’s Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime Snow White will feature actress Gillian Wright who has been confirmed to play the Wicked Queen alongside Matt Lapinskas as the dashing Prince.

A former winner of the Inside Soap Best Actress award Gillian Wright, better known as Jean Slater in Eastenders, will be armed with a poisoned apple as The Evil Queen, stepmother of Snow White.

Amidst a catalogue of other acting roles, Gillian is no stranger to pantomime having played the role of The Fairy Godmother in both Dick Whittington at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in 2011 and in Cinderella at Stevenage’s Gordon Craig Theatre in 2013.

Gillian will be joined on stage by fellow Eastenders veteran Matt Lapinskas, who graced Albert Square with both good looks and a cheeky-chappy persona in the role of Anthony Moon between 2011 and 2012. Matt, who is also known for finishing as the runner-up in the eighth series of Dancing On Ice in 2013, will be bringing his natural charm and charisma to the role of The Prince.

Actress Olivia Birchenough has also been confirmed to star as the eponymous Snow White. Olivia is known for presenting Channel 5’s children show Milkshake!, and the channel’s Bop Box series, and has previously lent her glamorous skills to playing Snow White previously in pantomime at Malvern Festival Theatre in 2013.

With over 3,000 tickets sold already, Snow White is set to this be another brilliant pantomime at Bournemouth Pavilion. With a fabulous cast accompanied by seven mischievous dwarves, there should be plenty of fun and frolics at this year’s winter treat. Tickets are on sale now.
