SINGING in the cinema is normally frowned upon, but not so with the worldwide hit Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music.

The tuneful show returns to the Lighthouse Poole on Thursday, February 26.

The evening features a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in glorious, full-screen Technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along.

The special night begins with a vocal warm-up led by the evening’s host, who also takes the audience through their complimentary ‘magic moments fun pack’, containing various props to be used at strategic points throughout the film.

There’s also a fancy dress competition for those who want to try their hand at dressing up as nuns, the Von Trapp children or other things associated with the film.

This thrilling and romantic musical boasts one of Broadway’s most soaring scores with hits like Climb Every Mountain, My Favourite Things, Maria, Do Re Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen and Edelweiss.
