MUCH loved US-born comedian, author and actor Ruby Wax brings her new show Sane New World to the Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts on Tuesday, September 30.

The mental health campaigner will show us just how our minds can send us mad as our internal critics play on a permanent loop tape.

Ruby knows this only too well. She has been on a tough but enlightening journey through depression, which has taken her from the Priory through to an MA from Oxford University in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy.

Ruby smashed on to our television screens in the 80’s playing loud, brash American Shelley DuPont in the hit comedy series Girls On Top where she starred alongside Tracey Ullman, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.

The show helped catapult her into becoming one of the great female comedians of our generation.

Her BBC show ‘Ruby Wax Meets’ saw her interview people such as Imelda Marcos, Pamela Anderson, Roseanne Barr and saw her win a BAFTA for her interview with Sarah Ferguson The Duchess of York.

Having written the book Sane New World, Ruby now brings her show to theatres across the UK to help us all understand why we sabotage our sanity, how our brains work and how we can rewire our thinking to find calm in a frenetic world.

All delivered with a bit of Ruby Wax wit and humour.
