ALAN Bennett’s acclaimed Talking Heads is coming to the Regent in Christchurch next Tuesday.

The show, staged by Dorset based ImpAct Theatre, will feature three of the great playwright’s poignantly comic pieces, each performed by a single actor.

The series was originally written for television in the late 1980s, although theatre performances, including a West End run directed by Bennett himself, have been staged since 1992.

Alan Bennett is widely regarded as one of our greatest stage and screen writers, with award-winning The History Boys and The Madness of King George among his best known works.

All directed by Patricia Richardson, ImpAct will be presenting Her Big Chance, A Chip in the Sugar and A Lady of Letters.

Patricia said: “Talking Heads is a superbly written series of short plays and a joy to direct.

“The characters and their lives and observations are very funny and touching and are filled with experiences that everyone can relate to. I am confident that our three actors will deliver a great evening’s entertainment.”
