THE aromas of noodles, tempura prawns and fish cakes were in the air in Bournemouth Square over the weekend, as the Thai Food Festival returned to the town for its sixth year.

Stalls selling mouth-watering traditional produce - alongside the more unusual flavours such as Thai stir fry ice cream - lined the square as shoppers from both the local area and further afield flocked to try the exotic tastes of Thailand.

There were also stalls from closer to home selling crepes and Dorset fudge, as well as stands by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Bournemouth Thai Language and Culture School.

Those who stopped to enjoy their purchases were also treated to a range of entertainment on the stage, plus food demonstration workshops, a Thai boxing show and a stall dedicated to Thai beer.

The event, which aims to provide an opportunity for the Thai community to come together to celebrate their tradition, culture and language, ran for three days over the Easter weekend.
