Wimborne’s Gin House is on the move, relocating from West Borough, to new and much larger premises at Church Street, and is set to open in May 2018.

'Ginaissance' men and women need not worry, however, as all their old favourite gins are still firmly stocked, along with an array of new tipples on the shelves.

Not only will they be expanding the choice of gins with the arrival of a new and improved 200-strong gin menu, there will also be other drinks available as well.

The Gin House Wimborne is a popular destination venue, and the new Gin House at Church Street will have a bar team of six - three of whom will be working full-time under the guidance of multi award-winning bar manager Aiden Brinkhurst. The team will serve everything from cocktails to eccentric and unusual sipping gins.

Owners Kate and Gordon Compston have retained the much-loved prohibition theme in the spacious Grade II Listed building, which is seeing a substantial investment into repairs and fit out.

There will be different areas and the new bar will offer a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, comfortable, chilled out nooks, and a bar and waitress service from a bespoke handmade bar constructed by locally-based craftsmen.

Kate Compston said: “We feel very much a part of the community, and we have expanded due to popular demand, thanks to our loyal customer base. At the Gin House we welcome everyday drinkers as well as visitors. Our new bar is a great place for anyone who is new to gin as well as those spirited types who really know their gins and want to try something new.”

The rediscovery of gin remains an on-going phenomena, as craft distilleries produce exotic and adventurous gins which are well placed to become classics.

Gin House Manager Aidan is looking forward to creating delicious, bespoke drinks and inspirational Dorset cocktails that customers will not find elsewhere.

Having expanded threefold, the new Gin House will have 120 covers and a menu featuring the finest fresh, seasonal, local produce. It will also introduce tasting experience events, a chance to book key areas for special occasions, and there are even going to be packages for team building, private events and parties, and cocktail competitions in the future.

As well as gins, they will also be serving a range of spirits, alongside wines and craft beers.

Kate said: “We remain committed to investment in Wimborne as we grow our business and are thrilled to have found a heritage property as wonderful as this one.”
