A BURGER restaurant has just launched a new monthly special - a chicken burger topped with two deep fried Babybels.

Mike Schneider, one of the 'burger brothers' who owns Monty's Lounge, which has outlets in Pokesdown and Bournemouth, said he had been working on the combination for a few weeks.

"I like trying new ideas although it's hard to come up with something different. I like using food that I used to like as a kid and try and make it relevant to now. Everyone's likes a bit of a nostalgia."

Mike says he rolls the round mini cheeses in crushed chilli heatwave Doritos before deep frying them.

"Our shredded chicken burger is topped with melted cheese, bacon and our house mayonnaise, Franky's Mayo, and a choice of buffalo sauce or pork bbq then topped with two deep fried Babybels."

Previous Monty's Lounge specials have included a burger topped with bacon jam and mozzarella dippers.

Mike added: "Most combinations have been thought of so it can be a challenge to come up with something different but I think customers will like this one."

The Babybel Burger is on sale now for £8.
