A POPULAR pub in Poole has scooped a national award. The Bermuda Triangle in Ashley Cross, won the Pub of the Season for Summer 2017.

Pub manager, Keith Darker, was presented with his award by Darren Lilleker, chairman of East Dorset CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

“Nobody can say they have had a bad pint here!” said Darren.

The Bermuda Triangle, also affectionately known as The BT, is one of the most well established pubs in the area.

Keith himself had been one of the pub's regulars for some 30 years before taking on the management of the pub when it was bought by new owners five years ago.

Since then, he has overseen a number of subtle improvements to the pub in Parr Street.

“The new patio outside has definitely been an improvement, there is nowhere else around here with a large outside area at the front," said Keith.

“It is useful for customers to spot their friends as they approach as The BT has long been known as a great after-work-pub. This summer we have seen an increase in real ale and wine sales."

So what next for the Bermuda Triangle? Keith hopes it might also be a contender for CAMRA's Pub of the Season for Winter now it has a log burner.

Keith added: “We also have plans to create another patio, giving our customers even more outside space to socialise and enjoy have a drink so exciting times ahead for visitors and locals alike."
