A HIGH Street pub is set to reopen in Poole following a £200,000 renovation - and the creation of eight new jobs.

The Slug and Lettuce, which has been closed for several days, will officially open again on Father's Day.

Kim Whyman, general manager of the pub, said: "We are thrilled with our upcoming refurbishment. The new look site will be adding something lighter and more modern for our customers and now with the launch of the new menu it is an exciting time and we can't wait to hear what our customers think of it."

The Slug and Lettuce's interior has been modernised throughout, and the new look will include a dedicated cocktail masterclass station - where customers can create their favourite tipple of choice.

A spokesman for Stonegate Pub Company, which operates the Slug and Lettuce, said: "With the most extensive cocktail list ever, no one will be disappointed. The introduction of the exclusive, Gancia Leggero Prosecco has 75 per cent less sugar for those counting the calories. If that’s not enough, customers will also be able to try the new Absolute Lime, the latest addition to the core range of flavours, providing a refreshing citrus taste.

"For those who are unable to choose, the innovative Tapas Tails, will offer a flight of three cocktails and finally, for those indulgent types, the addition of the Baileys Iced Latte will not disappoint.

"For those set to party the night away, the Giant Pornstar Martini is perfect for groups, priced at just £30."

Stonegate Pub Company is the largest privately held managed pub operator in the UK, with revenues in excess of £625million.

The company, which also operates Yates and Walkabout venues, has 692 pubs.
