IT’S a taste sensation – Dorset’s newest family event, Poole Harbour Festival has lined up a mouth-watering array of tasty treats next weekend that will hit all the right notes with a unique blend of cutting edge street food and the very best in live music.

Top of the bill for foodies and music fans alike, Poole Harbour Festival has rounded up some of the area’s freshest food producers so they’ll be in one place all at the same time.

Star performers include:

Chicken & Blues: A thoroughly 21st century take on the traditional chicken shop, the award-winning C&B has been cooking up a storm in its Boscombe restaurant since 2013, taking no prisoners with its secret ingredient 48-hour marinade and a three-stage cooking process. With shops in Boscombe, Winton and Ashley Cross, C&B is hitting the road with the C&B van.

“A selection of hand crafted sauces and side dishes are the perfect accompaniment to the award winning chicken,” says cofounder Joshua Simons.

“Chicken & Blues was named in the top five chicken concepts in the UK by The Metro in 2015, as well as winning the Theo Paphitis small business award.”

Casa Carlos: The Karouk family has been creating the finest in Spanish and Mexican cuisine for more than ten years at its popular café in Tuckton Road. A regular feature at major events from Bournemouth Air Festival to Cowes Week, Casa Carlos Catering uses only the freshest produce, Spanish olive oil and chorizo and imported herbs, spices and chillies.

Posh Kebab Co: This is no ordinary kebab experience, this kebab is made from grass-fed, slow-grown, dry aged Aberdeen Angus beef, which has been hung for 35 days. The secret marinade works perfectly with the kebab’s other ingredients of tzatziki, crispy Romaine lettuce and three home-mader chilli sauces. Also on the menu is the Oxford kebab made with grass-fed, slow grown lamb braised in liquor and spices, shredded and served in lettuce wraps.

Ojo Rojo: Contemporary Mexican dishes as Bournemouth’s latest food haven goes out on the road.

More artisan-produced international street foods, many created using the finest locally sourced ingredients, are being added to the bill all the time.

Add in a full range of free children’s entertainment, eco-art and craft workshops, circus skills and a family fire show, not to mention a full bar that’s well stocked with local craft beers and ciders and you have the perfect recipe for the ultimate family weekend.

“We wanted to do something the whole family can enjoy together, that doesn’t finish too late but gives everyone a great day and a fun-packed night out,” says Poole Harbour Festival organiser Ben Dyas.

By day children’s characters including Peppa Pig, the Minions and Elsa from Frozen will roam the festival site making sure young revellers are having a fine time. The live music programme gets underway around lunchtime each day and will run on two stages until 10pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.

Topping the bill are critically acclaimed tribute bands Oasish, Stereotonics, the Really Hot Chili Peppers and The Jilted Generation whose Prodigy-praising act comes fresh from the Isle of Wight Festival.

Other confirmed main stage acts include Black Water County, Saints of Sin, Remedy Sounds, SN Dubstation and Lady Winwood’s Maggot. The second stage will feature the Mother Ukers, Matt Black, Lewis Jordan Brown and Rock ’n’ Blues Co.
