A popular healthy eating restaurant in Bournemouth town centre is applying for an alcohol licence.

The Skinny Kitchen on Post Office Road has applied to Bournemouth council for a licence.

Owners have applied to cover the sale of alcohol from 9am until 11pm, seven days a week.

According to the application, Skinny Kitchen also plans to screen films and show indoor sporting events.

The restaurant, which opened its doors in March, serves healthier versions of some of the more indulgent treats including pizzas, pancakes and burgers.

The healthy eating dining concept began in Ibiza in 2014, when David Mason and his three friends were looking for somewhere to eat that meant all their hard work in the gym before their summer holiday didn’t go to waste.

The Bournemouth restaurant is the first Skinny Kitchen to open in the UK.

A branch is set to open in Canterbury with the opening date still yet to be announced.
