Poole residents can now get meals from some of their favourite restaurants delivered to their door.

Deliveroo, the on-demand delivery service for restaurants that don't offer takeaway, has now launched in Poole.

More than seven restaurants have signed up to the service, meaning you can now get favourite food delivered from the likes of The Dancing Moose, Koh Noi Lilliput, Le Bateau and Chicken and Blues.

The move is set to create more than 35 jobs over the course of the first year.

Most of these will be Deliveroo riders who aim to deliver food from restaurant to your home or workplace within 32 minutes.

First started in London in 2013 by former Wall Street banker Will Shu, Deliveroo has gone worldwide and now has operations in the Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Dubai, Australia and Singapore.

It reached Bournemouth last September with over 20 restaurants signed up including Wagamama, Mexigo, Koh Thai, Chez Fred and 7Bone Burger Co.

Deliveroo has also expanded their existing Bournemouth zone to include the likes of Nick the Fish, The Dancing Duck and Jenkins & Sons.

Jeremy Rawlinson, General Manager at Deliveroo, said: "We’re extremely excited to be launching in Poole and we’re looking forward to bringing some of the town’s delicious dishes straight from the hands of local chefs to customers’ doors.

“Poole is a multicultural and prosperous area with a diverse range of chain and independent restaurants, and we have seen a real appetite for the service.

“We already have a number of great partners across the town and we are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers in Poole over the course of the next year.”
