FROM grilling Welsh Black Beef Burgers on the barbecue in the Brecon Beacons to cooking freshly caught mackerel on the beach after a day at the Dorset coast.

Pitch Up, Eat Local is described as the definitive guide to where to camp in the UK, what local produce to eat, and how to cook it.

Food and travel writer Ali Ray spent five years travelling the country meeting the UK’s most dedicated and passionate local producers.

Accompanied by her beloved campervan ‘Custard’ she learnt first-hand how to cook regional dishes and where to source the best local ingredients.

The Dorset Charcuterie Company, run by friends Lee Moreton and Ben Sugden, features in the book in a chapter entitled The Purbeck Cure.

Ali said: "I have had the pleasure of using Dorset Charcuterie in some of my campsite cooking. I've used their chorizo in paella and also their black pudding in breakfast rostis, both of which are wonderful, but the one that sticks in my mind is a sensational Dorset pancetta, rolled in hay ash. You may think it sounds weird, but it it tastes extraordinarily good: salty, smoky, earthy and sweet all at the same time. I can't recommend it highly enough."

Ali brings each location to life with recipes and mouth-watering descriptions of regional food and its history and matches the country’s best producers, farmers’ markets, farm shops and pick-your-owns with some of the UK’s best campsites. Each campsite is reviewed at length and there are listings for every camping style, from basic sites to those with state-of-the-art showers.

Ali also provides a delicious, family-friendly recipe suited to each area’s tastiest offering. The book contains over 60 inspiring recipes that Ali perfected on her travels, all easy to cook, whether on a gas hob, camp fire or barbecue.

Recipes include:

Chicken Mojito Wraps
