POP star turned cheese maker Alex James is starring in a short film about running his business.

The father of five who grew up in Bournemouth and attended St James’ Primary and Bournemouth School, is best for known as the bassist with the band Blur.

Now he runs a thriving cheese-making business based in the Cotswolds and a few years ago he invented Spudsworth, described as the world’s first pouring cheese.

He said at the time: “I was inspired by traditional Swiss raclette, which is melted and eaten with potato.

“But this is much easier to do in the microwave.

“I had cheese on a jacket potato every day after school, and when I discovered raclette it blew my mind. I’ve been making posh cheese for a while but the kids really love this.”

Alex has teamed up with O2 Business to talk about his experience of running a business, the challenges he faced, and how he uses technology to run it.

The aim of the project is to encourage small businesses to make better use of technology.

Alex also hosts an annual food and music festival with Jamie Oliver, which is called the Big Feastival.
