DISABILITY charity Motability is calling for supporters to join in with their Tea Party campaign during August.

From August 25 to 31, people are being encouraged to hold tea parties at home or in work, clubs and societies to raise funds for disabled people around the UK.

A number of celebrity chefs have donated recipes to inspire those taking part, including Michel Roux Jr, Atul Kochhar and Christchurch Food festival favourite Brian Turner.

Their recipes are available online, along with a free Motability fundraising pack, which provides tea party hosts with invitations, tips for a successful event and other celebrity recipes.

See motability.co.uk/teaparty for more information.

“What could be better than enjoying the summer and holding a tea party with your family and friends, while at the same time raising funds for Motability,” said Gary Parker, individual giving manager at Motability. “The money raised will be used to provide charitable grants to support Motability customers who cannot afford the right car or adaptations for their needs and to provide driving lessons in standard or adapted vehicles.”

The free fundraising packs are available to download on the Motability website or they can be sent out. Supporters can contact the fundraising team for more information and to request a pack on 0300 123 1875 or email fundraising@motability.co.uk Motability’s charitable work relies on voluntary income and aims to raise around £2.5 million each year to help customers who would otherwise be unable to afford the mobility solution they need.

This income is raised through charitable trust and foundation donations, corporate support, individual fundraising and from trading activity.
