IF you have ever wondered how to season a wok, fillet a sea bass or just boil an egg, then these 30 minute cooking demos are a fun and informative way to spend the day.

Just relax with a glass of wine or real ale and let the chefs do the hard work and even the washing up!

Friday, June 27 is Chef’s Kitchen in the Demo Area in association with The Highcliff Marriott Hotel.

11am: Afternoon Tea – join us as Matthew Budden, Executive Chef of the Highcliff Grill and Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel, shares his insights into preparing the perfect afternoon tea using local jams and bakeries.

Noon: Pigeon and Mussels – chef/proprietor of La Fosse in Cranbourne Mark Hartstone will show off his award-winning cooking skills as he prepares this dish in front of our foodie audience. 1pm: Rump of Lamb and Crumbed Braised Shoulder – Nick O’Halloran, Head Chef of The White Star in Southampton, will make his Bournemouth debut with this spectacular seasonal dish.

2pm: Dorset Caught Fish with Creamed Sharpham Park Spelt – Bournemouth and Poole College’s Gary Kiliminster will return to the Demo Kitchen using the best of local sustainable products and ingredients from his father’s garden.

4pm: Cocktail Masterclass – CJ Lohez and his award winning 1812 team will be showing you some of the basics of cocktail making. He will be putting on a captivating show to bring you some of the classics and a drink or two from the bar’s own creations. You’ll leave wanting to impress your friends with your new found knowledge on how to make the best cocktails around.

Saturday, June 28 is Challenge Day. Watch as the mayor takes up the annual cooking challenge or make your own sausages.

Noon: Teaching the Mayor To Cook with local chef Des Burke of Flavours School of Cookery.

1pm: Leftovers Challenge.

3pm: Oriental Cooking Master Class. Andy Chu shows how to make the most of your wok.

4pm: The Sausage Challenge. Join Dorset Charcuterie’s Lee Moreton as he shows how to butcher local meat in preparation for making the perfect sausage.

Sunday, June 29 is Family Day in the Demo Kitchen with each chef cooking with the younger members of their families. This is a fun and interactive day hosted by The Heart Angels where your little ones can get involved.

Noon: Baby Food Demo – Matthew Budden, Executive Chef of the Highcliff Grill and Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel, is a father-of-three, including his few weeks old baby, and will be showing you his secrets of making baby food.

1pm: Kids Kitchen – local author of The Kids Only Cookbook, Sue Quinn, pictured inset, will be preparing Mackerel Burgers and a desert from her book alongside her own children.

2pm: Messy Hands – Bournemouth and Poole College’s Gary Kiliminster will be joined by his son as they make scotch eggs.

3pm: Cupcakes, Cupcakes Everywhere – Coral from Rex’s Heavenly Cupcakes invites you to bring your kids along to the Demo Area as she shows them how to decorate the perfect cupcake.
