Sam Bird is already ruffling Adam Collard’s feathers just moments after entering the Love Island villa.

The 25-year old entrepreneur takes love rat Adam to task over his behaviour towards some of the girls as he sits down with his new housemates in Thursday’s episode.

“I’m coming in to find love and maybe teach Adam how to treat a lady right, maybe,” Bird says.

It doesn’t stop there, as he later tells the boys he would have handled the situation between Adam and Rosie Williams much differently if he were in his shoes.

Adam coldly dumped Rosie earlier this week after new girl Zara McDermott came in, leaving some viewers horrified at his heartless actions.

“There’s like a bit of a weird situation with Rosie. Personally for me, I’ve got three sisters and if someone did that to one of my sisters, I’d be so annoyed.

“In my opinion, it looked like you used her. If I didn’t fancy someone and wanted to go for someone else, I would have approached them first.”

With tensions already brewing, Adam declares war in the Beach Hut.

“The kid is going to try to get under my skin, but let the games begin. If he thinks he’s going to get one step ahead of me, he’s got another think coming.”

Meanwhile Samira Mighty is looking forward to finally getting her moment in the villa, but could face competition from newly-single Rosie.

Samira receives news about Sam’s arrival and is immediately delighted.

“When I saw that text, I didn’t even read it properly, I was just skimming it, I saw ‘boy’ and I thought ‘Hallelujah’.”

But the “bittersweet” fact that only one boy is entering leads Rosie to reflect on potential outcome between her and Samira.

“Obviously there’s just one so it’s very bittersweet for me and Sam, because we are best friends in here. We’ve both agreed that whatever happens we’re going to be happy for each other.”

Both swoop in and make themselves known to the new guy.

A deeper connection is very much on the cards for Megan Barton Hanson and Eyal Booker, who escape for a daytime date which leads to night-time romancing.

“It’s good to finally get the hideaway with Eyal. It’s been a long time coming. You do feel close and it’s a special moment when you’re both in bed together. So it will be nice to finally have some alone time,” Megan says.

Both spend the night in the hideaway – but will they take it to the next level?

If so, they aren’t the only couple getting touchy-feely, with Wes and Laura admitting to their mates that they’ve been “doing bits” after making up.

Following a tense few days for the couple, things look to be back on track, but they both deny doing the “full shebang”.

Adam also admits he feels differently about Zara than he did with his other love interests in the villa.

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2.
