Ed Sheeran has announced a stadium tour of the UK and Europe.

The singer-songwriter – who headlined the closing night of Glastonbury Festival on Sunday – will hit the road for a string of shows next year.

The tour will kick off in Cork on May 4 and other stops will include Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Cardiff and Dublin.

Sheeran, 26, will perform two dates at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 15 and 16.

It will be the first time the singer has performed at Wembley since 2015, when he became the first artist to play the stadium solo (with just his loop pedal and guitar as accompaniment) over three consecutive, sold out nights.

The tour wraps up in August.

Announcing the news, Sheeran posted a picture on Instagram featuring a cake made in his image.

“Announcing UK and Europe stadium tour tomorrow. This was the only picture I could find at short notice x,” he said.
