Ah, man-ponies. Some men, the likes of Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Chris Hemsworth, look heavenly with their little tuft of hair tied at the back of their head, while others (not mentioning any names) can’t quite pull the look off.

Matt Damon revealed his very own ponytail at a press conference in Beijing for the upcoming film The Great Wall alongside his co-star Andy Lau and the director Zhang Yimou.

There was a lot of love from fans, who sung praises for the curly bunch of hair tied oh-so-perfectly at the nape of the 44-year-old’s neck. This Matt was miles different from the clean shaven, suave Matt we all grew used to over the past few years – but some were loving it.

We have no idea whether the new look is an extension of a character in any upcoming flick or whether he just fancied a bit of a makeover. Are Matt and his new ponytail are here to stay? Who knows, but these people are pretty much hoping they’re not…

The Great Wall is set for release in November 2016 and boasts an array of stars from both China and Hollywood. The plot centres around warriors using the Great Wall to combat otherworldly creatures who threaten humanity while Matt plays a battle-scarred mercenary in search of treasure amidst the action.
