ARCADE Fire brought the second day of the Isle of Wight Festival to a spectacular close last night.

The Canadian indie rock band released their latest studio Album 'Reflektor' in 2013 and have topped the iTunes charts in more than 40 different countries around the world receiving two Grammy Award nominations.

The band, who had been recommended to organiser John Giddings by David Bowie, proved their pedigree with a spectacular show of lights and music which sent 40,000 festivalgoers back to their tents happy.

The fans had been superbly warmed up by Catfish and the Bottlemen who showed why they are one of the hottest properties in British music.

With frontman Van NcCann in energtic form the award-winning band played hits from their two albums The Balcony and The Ride which had the crowd jumping and dancing from start to finish.

Across the rest of the festival site at Seaclose Park in Newport Southampton dance sensation FooR, who released their latest Album Yosh Vol 2 in January this year, graced the big top with their urban beats.

Meanwhile Texas, The Kooks, Example and Zara Larsson were also among the stars on Saturday's bill.

Today Imelda May, George Ezra and Bastille take to the main stage while the Amazons and Clean Bandit perform in the Big Top.

But it is all about legend Rod Stewart who will will close the festival with hits including Sailing and Maggie May spanning five decades.
