It must be pretty rare for someone to have spent over fifty years as a musical superstar the world over and still only be in your fifties.

It must be rarer still to look twenty five years younger and put on a show that is still as fresh and full of energy.

The audience was not as hectic and the screams were not quite so loud but everyone enjoyed every minute of it.

The production was more than big enough to fill the arena with a touch of Vegas glamour, the voice has aged as least as well as the rest of him and the set-list spanned the entire five decades of his career.

The first half included Puppy Love and One Bad Apple from the early days, a cover of Al Greens Let's Stay Together, a bit of Joseph (including the coat) and tunes from his solo years in the 80s and 90s.

The second half repeated the same formula with Love Me For A Reason and Crazy Horses, a couple more from the musicals and even a Q&A delivered in the middle of the crowd.

There were plenty of other elements to the show and it was great to see the easy interaction between Donny and the crowd, many who would have been fans for almost the entire fifty years.

Think what you will about the whole Osmond mania thing but that was not what was on offer tonight. We saw an artist that pretty much has it all as far as talent goes but still gives it his all every night.

And let's face it after five decades, 60 albums, 2,000 appearances in Joseph and winning Dancing With The Stars, he must be doing something right.

And tonight we saw just what that is.
