THE ever popular character is back and by the look of the crowds, still very much a prized pig. The entrance to the theatre thronging with harassed parents and excited children, which is always the hallmark of a decent kids show.

For parents and under-five’s, TV character Peppa Pig is kind of a big deal. There’s even an entire Peppa Pig World in Paulton’s Park, which most of the audience will have frequented.

For those of you who aren’t so familiar, Peppa is a loveable character who lives with her little brother, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. She has many animal friends including Danny Dog, Emily Elephant and Susie Sheep.

This show is all about Peppa’s surprise (which I won’t ruin) and all her family, very best friends and recurring characters like Mr Potato. There’s even time for a trip to the seaside.

There is singing, dancing, audience participation and a bit of a soaking when George starts to cry.

The young audience adored it and for just over an hour their giggles and enthusiastic cries filled the theatre.

There were no unexpected scares just lots of very happy kids, singing, dancing and doing a bit of panto-style ‘he’s behind you’ shouting.

The skilled puppeteers enthralled them throughout.

Halfway through the performance there is a useful interval for the all-important toilet trip and ice cream.

A word of caution though. Be prepared to part with some cash or do some serious negotiating with your children.

They will be faced with an array of Peppa Pig merchandise and it is quite impossible to say no after such an endearing show.
