WHAT a gorgeous bundle of fun Dawn French was when she appeared at the Pavilion Theatre last night.

She arrived on stage with a walking stick due to suffering with Labyrinthitis, which she said affects the balance in a similar way to vertigo, which made her have dizzy spells throughout the show. However, this lovely lady, best known for her starring role on The Vicar of Dibley, was everything that you could wish for from one of the nation's treasures.

I have never seen a comedy show like it, where instead of cheap gags and one liners at another's expense, the audience laughed along with Dawn as she took them on a journey through her life.

Instead of there being no story to the show, there were questions during the show entitled 30 Million Minutes, projected behind her including 'How do you be a woman' and 'How do you be a wife?'

She was thought-provoking and so totally openly honest with the night's ticket-holders, whether it was on the subject of criticism from the press on her weight, her experience as a tiny child of meeting the Queen Mother, evil grannies, or married life.

Dawn used projections on a screen behind her to illustrate who members of her family are and music blares from the speakers at regular intervals to provide a soundtrack to her memories.

She was funny, didn't mind poking fun at herself through a very comical body analysis to make the crowd chuckle and packed so much into one short performance, yet the audience stayed eagerly listening and reminiscing the whole night.

There is so much more I could say about Dawn French's latest show, 30 Million Minutes, but I feel personally that the fact that there was a standing ovation and rousing applause at the end spoke volumes for itself.
