Founded by Maurice White in 1969 and spanning over four decades, Earth Wind and Fire form one of the most successful music groups in the world.

With nearly 100 million albums sold, their blend of soul, funk, gospel, blues, jazz, rock and dance music has appealed to music lovers across four generations.

Before headlining this weekend’s BBC Proms in the Park in London in front of 40,000 fans, EWF brought their musical magic to a packed BIC and did not disappoint.

Maurice, who has now retired for health reasons, hands over to a fantastically talented 12 strong band fronted by three original members.

Verdine White, Ralph Johnson and the sensational voice of Philip Bailey all provided a performance packed with style, energy and enthusiasm proving they've still got what it takes to deliver that something special.

The evening kicked off with Boogie Wonderland followed by Sing a Song.

The appreciative crowd were happily kept on their feet for the majority of the evening taking a short rest during the slower numbers before the boogying continued.

All the hits flowed including Shining Star, After The Love Has Gone, That’s The Way Of The World and Let's Groove - to name just a few.

At the end of such an entertaining and brilliant performance, quite a few members of the audience couldn't help but dance their way out of the BIC smiling. Including me.
