THE charming, olde worlde, venue seems a strange fit for ‘the UK’s hardest working tribute band’. I kept looking over my shoulder for Statler & Waldorf.

Limehouse, below, kick off with Jail-break and riff their way through a mixed-pace set with energy, edge and punch.

There’s band-crowd banter and a list of Thin Lizzy classics, and we’re only at the interval, with our pre-ordered drinks waiting for us.

The second set includes Cold Sweat, Don’t Believe a Word and Black Rose and finishes up with the anthem Whisky in the Jar.

Two hours and 22 tracks, all gems, including Emerald.

Limehouse have cracked it by ringing the neck of every song and you can see they enjoy it as much as the crowd.

A relaxed venue, great band and great music. We all left grinning from ear to ear and there were even ice creams in the interval!
