ALTHOUGH it is a bit of a cliché to say that Ronan Keating’s life has been something of a rollercoaster over the past three years, the Irish singer is certainly on a high at the moment, if his performance at the BIC last night is anything to go by.

For it would appear that the ups and downs in both his personal and professional life, have given the Dublin-born star inspiration for a powerful comeback with his Fires Live tour.

His friend Brian McFadden did a sterling job as the support act. The audience was in a lively mood by the time Ronan appeared in a blaze of bright light accompanied by his seven-strong band.

And even though he’d played at London’s O2 arena the night before, Ronan romped through his repertoire including favourites such as Lovin’ Each Day as well as new songs like Wasted Light with passion and energy.

Not only was it a strong vocal performance, but it was his ability to connect with the audience that made it such a memorable night.

The encore included the classic When You Say Nothing At All and Rollercoaster which had everyone up on their feet. All in all a great show from start to finish.
