PROLIFIC North Carolina singer-songwriter Ryan Adams returns with his 14th album in as many years.
With such a sizeable back catalogue, this self-titled release is unlikely to explore new directions – but that’s music to his fans’ ears.
Portraying the usual Adams’ traits of love, loss and liquor, this latest collection flows neatly from one track to the next.
The pared-back My Wrecking Ball (no connection to Miley Cyrus) and blistering single Gimme Something Good recall the former Whiskeytown frontman’s earlier albums, but it is the lolloping Feels Like Fire that stands out.
A fine album which continues the good form regained with last year’s Ashes And Fire.
