FANS of live music are being urged to head to Blandford over the bank holiday weekend for two family-friendly events.

Mark Pitman of Pitman’s Removals & Storage Ltd is supporting Teddy Rocks, a three-day festival of music and fun from May 4-6, in aid of Teddy20, which supports children with cancer and their families.

The festival, which has gone from a small event raising £400 in 2011, to raising more than £76,000 last year, is held at Charlsworth Farm near Blandford and features a fantastic line-up of live music with family activities and camping.

Mark is also supporting Blandford’s popular Georgian Fayre on the bank holiday Monday.

He said: “Teddy Rocks is an amazing event, organised by friends of mine in memory of their ten-year-old son, who died of bone cancer.

“I’ve tried to help out because it’s not only a great fun family event but it raises money for such an important cause.

“This year I’ve decided to give a bit of sponsorship to the Georgian Fayre too. I started up as a sole trader 10 years ago but now as an employer of local staff and gaining business from local people referring us I feel it’s only right to get involved.”

The Georgian Fayre will be held in the town from 10am-5pm on May 7, and will feature a range of stalls, games and activities including re-enactments, a large craft area, a farmers’ market, dog agility, classic cars, a model armour exhibition, live music, fun fair, fire juggling, circus skills workshop, a climbing wall, storytelling and more.
