HOT on the heels of their barnstorming live performance at Glastonbury this month. Musical mates Alex Turner and Miles Kane have teamed up again as The Last Shadow Puppets to play the BIC on Wednesday.

The Arctic Monkeys frontman and the Birkenhead singer-songwriter have took time out from their music careers for this side project that is now on its second album.

Alex and Miles became friends when Miles’ previous band the Little Flames supported the Arctic Monkeys on their 2005 and 2007 UK tours.

The pair teamed up with James Ford, of Simian Mobile Disco, to record the first Mercury Music Prize nominated album, The Age of the Understatement, at Black Box Studios in France in August 2007.

The production of the record included the 22-piece London Metropolitan Orchestra.

Talk of a follow-up album has been ongoing since 2009 with Miles saying it would be recorded ‘when the time is right’.

When Everything You’ve Come To Expect was released in April with Zach Dawes from Mini Mansions, joining the group as bassist.

Alex Turner has had massive success with the Arctic Monkeys. The Sheffield band’s debut record, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, is the fastest selling debut album by a band.

It has since gone quintuple platinum in the UK.

Miles Kane was the former frontman of the Rascals and followed that with two albums as a solo artist including the gold certified, Colour of the Trap.
