A NEW monthly event featuring up and coming local musicians is coming to Bournemouth this month.

Freestyle Acoustic Showcase takes place at Canvas Loft Bar and Live lounge on February 21 from 8pm.

The concept is to help promote new and established artists alike in a premium location, with full support including equipment, sound engineering as well as marketing and promotion.

The long term goal is to help new artists gain local support and go on to headline their own shows.

The Bournemouth showcase features talented local acts including The Drew Allen Band, Will McNicol, Tom Clements, Charlie Woodford, Lou Whalley and Rich Gawler.

Headliner Drew Allen supported James Blunt at the BIC in 2014, has released two singles to date and is currently working on his first full band album.

Also on the bill is Will McNicol, a classical and acoustic guitarist, voted as Guitarist of the Year 2011 by Guitarist magazine, and noted as one of the 30 great guitarists around the world under 30 by Acoustic guitar magazine.

Tom Clements is a singer songwriter from Shaftesbury, his recent album, Roots, Morals and Other Life Choices charts his progress to full-time musician.

New Milton based Charlie Woodford is a young musician rapidly making a name for himself.

Lou Whalley is one of the best female vocalists you’ve never heard, at 17 Lou is a newcomer to the live music scene.

Rich Gawler completes this stellar line-up performing songs from his forthcoming acoustic album project.
