GRAMMY Award-winning jazz-soul singing sensation Gregory Porter is to make his first appearance at the Lighthouse in Poole on April 21, 2016. Tickets for the show go on sale at 9am on Friday, July 3.

Fresh from a storming set at Glastonbury last weekend and currently riding high in the UK singles charts as the featured vocalist on British dance duo Disclosure’s latest hit Holding On, Gregory is very much the man of the moment.

He met up with Pharrell Williams backstage at Glastonbury and was invited to perform at the BBC Music Tepee where he played an acoustic version of the title track of his Grammy-winning album Liquid Spirit and a breathtaking cover of James Bay’s Hold Back the River.

The show at Lighthouse is part of a 16-date tour in support of Liquid Spirit, which went straight into the top ten on its release in 2013 and has been in the UK album charts ever since – more than 80 weeks – being certified gold in this country alone. It is the most streamed jazz album of all time.

This year Gregory has been featured on Sunday Night at the Palladium and VE Day 70 as well as enjoying unprecedented success on the dance chart with a remix of the song Liquid Spirit by Claptone, which also topped the Ibiza Shazam chart.

A performer of extraordinary presence who has been compared to the greatest of the greats from Joe Williams and Nat King Cole, to Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye, they don’t come much cooler than Gregory Porter.
