NOW running for over 20 years, this year’s SUBU Summer Ball attracted 7,000 Bournemouth students on Saturday night. The end of year blowout saw a mind-blowing array of fancy dress costumes with the revelry continuing until dawn with the plucky few posing for the badge of honour that is the Survivors photo at Pier Approach.
The multi-stage show boasted colourful tents, music, food stalls and funfair rides. Some of the big names this year included drum and bass duo Sigma who are renowned for their Nobody to Love hit that became their first number one, as well as their follow up single Changing featuring Paloma Faith. Joining Sigma on the main stage were Bournemouth’s very own Sunset Sons who have been classified under the BBC’s Sound of 2015.
Other acts included Julio Bashmore, MC Stormzy, DJ The Artful Dodger and Zak Abel. Hopefully, the excesses of the weekend are starting to wear off by now.
