FUN Lovin' Criminals frontman Huey Morgan and DJ Jazzy Jeff will headline Poole's Party In The Park this year, it has been announced.

Set for the heart of Lower Parkstone, Ashley Cross, over bank holiday weekend, this year promises to be a spectacular 15th birthday for the event.

Organiser Jane Jones, who hosted a launch party at Patrick's, Ashley Cross, on Tuesday, said she's thrilled with the partners on board this year.

Meanwhile, Steve Simms, of sponsor Fire Radio, said: "It's grown to be a massive event and securing Jazzy Jeff and Huey Morgan will make it the most talked about too.

"We can't wait to get involved and look forward to celebrating the bank holiday weekend in style."

Last year's event proved popular with DJ royalty Jazzy B and Norman Jay and this year's party is about to surpass all expectations. The two-day mini festival has evolved over time from what was a small gathering relating to the Poole Food Festival. Locals love this atmosphere, fun, music and food, moreover kids are welcome with a host of attractions to keep them happy.

Bands that the organisers are keen to announce are local and much followed and these include Boy le Monti, Fearne, Drew Allen, Dubheart, Soulhole and even a young up-and-coming band Ekko, who will kick start the whole event off on the Saturday, August 29, with their amazing rendition of various covers.

Along with the bands, well known local DJ, Martyn the Hat is on board to compere the show and introduce a host of artists, DJs, dancers and the two headline acts who will wow and excite guests at the award winning family fest.

Jane said: “We've deliberately kept the ticket price low so all locals can join in and enjoy and purposely kept them at the same price as last year despite our rising costs. We want everyone to enjoy this little mini fest that we are so proud of and just look forward now to the August bank holiday weekend. Let the party begin!”

All tickets including 'Stage Side' passes are now available.
