The original UB40 split a number of years ago, and are now touring as two separate bands, so this is the second time I have seen UB40 in Bournemouth in the past few months.

The first time it was UB40 Official in November at the O2, this time it's UB40 Reunited at the BIC.

They both played all of the hits and have half of the original band each - but I will always remember Ali Campbell as the voice of UB40 and it is Ali, Astro and Mickey that take to the stage tonight.

The expectant crowd will not be disappointed as the set list contains everything they have come to hear with One In Ten and Rat In The Kitchen getting two of the biggest cheers of the night.

Ali still has that distinctive voice and his live performance sounds just the same as he did when those songs were originally recorded in 1981, with the crowd lapping up every word.

The Solent Hall was packed to the rafters and a fair few chose to listen from the bar rather than venture into the hall.

I always find it a bit strange that with gig tickets the price they are that people choose to not actually watch the band and just sit drinking - surely they could have stayed at home for free to do that?

The biggest shame is that they missed a great show with a full 11-piece band on stage playing songs that have proved to be as timeless as the band themselves.

A great night delivered by three men who appear to be happy to be performing together again, and long may it continue.
