A BRITISH rock supergroup made up of four members from different prog rock bands are performing at a theatre in the south.

Legendary British band ASIA has added another date to their UK tour to promote the new album Gravitas.

They are playing at Christchurch’s Regent Centre on Friday, October 31. The group is made up of the former bassist and vocalist of Roxy Music John Wetton, and Yes keyboardist Geoff Downes.

Band member drummer Carl Palmer, formerly of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and the Crazy World of Arthur Brown said the band’s return to the concert stage cannot come soon enough.

He said: “Performing on stage is where this band truly comes into its element. Seeing the fans reacting to our music is what makes it all worthwhile. It is the fuel that drives this train we call ASIA.”
