From The Jam are acclaimed by many as one of the most authentic live recreations of the legendary British band.

The audience at Mr Kyps in Poole will be taken to a Town Called Malice next Friday with Jam veteran Bruce Foxton on stage.

Incredibly it’s 36 years since The Jam had their first hit with In The City and over 30 since their last, Beat Surrender, in late 1982.

The tracks were among a total of 18 hit singles which included four number ones, and the band also recorded half a dozen classic albums before guitarist, frontman and songwriter Paul Weller pulled the plug.

From The Jam has original Jam bass player Bruce Foxton on bass and once included Jam drummer Rick Buckler, but the latter left in 2009.

Drumming duties now fall to Mark Brzezicki, who has a major place in music history in his own right as a founder member of Big Country.

Guitar and lead vocals come courtesy of Russell Hastings, who openly admits to having “grown up” on The Jam and whose passionate vocals and musicianship have won fans all over the world.

The last few years has seen Bruce Foxton and Paul Weller reconciled following family bereavements and the pair have been working together again on new material.

Foxton played bass on his 2010 album Wake Up The Nation, while Weller returned the favour with a spot on Bruce Foxton’s solo album Back In The Room.

Support at the show will be provided by local band Electric Panda.
