STATUS Quo are like turkey with all the trimmings at Christmas.

You know what you’re getting, there are no surprises, but you always look forward to it and find it immensely satisfying.

The Quo were back at the BIC on Sunday night for their festive bash.

And their incessant rock riffs were greeted with wild applause from the enthusiastic audience.

From the opening bars of Caroline through to the rousing finale of Rockin’ All Over The World, they had the place jumping.

This was no frills, good time rock and roll as only Quo produce.

All the hits were rolled out- some in medley form. We got Rain, Paper Plane, What You’re Proposing, In the Army Now and Down Down, to name a few.

The great sound was matched by a pulsating lighting production.

Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, Status Quo's driving force since the early days, revelled in the party atmosphere.

Lead vocalist Rossi was talking to the audience about changes over the years, when some wag piped up that he had more hair back then.

Quo’s encore had a distinctly yuletide flavour. It was indeed a Christmas cracker.

And special mention for Eddie and the Hot Rods who were in sparkling rock and roll form.
