  • Poole based charity, Friends of Forest Holme, are currently based at the Dolphin Shopping Centre inviting shoppers to make a donation to the charity and place a star and message on its Christmas tree in memory of a loved one.
  • The winners of the Friends 4 Upton Library December art competition were Lydia and George Bossons. They were each presented with a £5 prize ,kindly donated by Greys Estate Agent .

  • The Blandford Stour Valley Band with Musical Director Tim Stankus after a concert given at Kingston Lacey House in July 2010, show off their new uniforms which the Signpost Residents Trust Fund helped provide.

  • International charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), spread some Christmas cheer on Thursday December 23rd along Bournemouth seafront as part of Bournemouth Tourism’s Advent Calendar collecting smiles from passers-by for its ‘WVS Mile of Smilesâ
  • Parkstone Yacht Club raised £1,660 for the Poole Hospital Charity at their Annual Arripay Charity Pursuit Race. Martin Simms of Parkstone Yacht Club hands over a cheque to Pam Bell from the Poole Hospital Charity.
  • Parley First School  Year 3 carol singers who were invited to sing at the MS Centre, West Parley this week.  The children, aged 7 & 8, sang a medley of traditional and modern carols to the members of the centre following their Christmas lunch.
  • An all time first for New Milton Rotary Club happened when the highest award possible within the worldwide organisation, a Paul Harris Fellowship, was awarded to Margaret Willson, a non-Rotarian.   Seen accepting her award from President John Witt.
  • Peter Andre serenading fan Emma Neal on stage at the Bournemouth International Centre after he sent a bouncer into the crowd to pick a girl.
  • New Forest charity The Pilgrim Bandits took three amputees to America on a skiing trip.
  • Tim Johnson of the Bournemouth Probation Office, with his fancy dress helpers who visited Sainsbury's Castlepoint on Sunday 19th December; to raise funds for two local charities:  Help & Care of Bournemouth and Macmillan of Christchurch Hospital.
  • Children at St Maryís Catholic Combined Church School in Poole were among those taking part in the Santa Hat Challenge in aid of local charity Round Table Childrenís Wish.
  • Poole Bay Rotary and Bournemouth Rotaract spread Christmas cheer with Father Christmas and his train, collecting for local children's charities in Parkstone.
  • Children enjoyed a train ride to visit Santa in his grotto. Childred received a present, whilst mums and dads had mince pies. Seven different engines owned by members of the Bournemouth and District Society of Model Engineers.
  • Pam Shiner has reached 30 years at Golden Acres Garden Centre; seen celebrating with director Simon Edwards.
  • Slimming World Consultants got some TLC from Justin Lee Collins at the club’s annual awards ceremony to celebrate its most successful slimmers.left to right Louise Seddon, Shirley Miller, Susie Pinner, Alison Yorke Saville, Becky Morgan, Emma Morriss.
  • This month the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel presented a cheque for over £8000 to Julia’s House, which the hotel has raised over the last year – with the help of its guests!
  • Despite a very busy Christmas Day the Worshipful Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth Councillor Barry Goldart and Mrs Viv Goldart found time to visit the Christmas Day lunch held at the Winton Salvation Army.
  • A group of 10 Red Belt from the Ferndown MINI Jitsu Club were Awarded their third Stars, that will go towards their First Mons Grading.
  • 17 year old Leading Cadet Andrew Morrison of Poole Sea Cadets has been awarded with his silver Aviators Wings after attending two one-week courses with the Sea Cadet Corps and the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm.
