  • Iford Trefoil Guild member June Russell invited members and friends to join her in her garden in Strouden Park for tea and cake. £40 was raised for Guide Dogs.

  • A group of Entry to Employment students from the Bournemouth and Poole College have been working with the Charity Heartstone on two Festival of Flight photo-exhibitions.

  • To celebrate the opening of their 100th store on Centrum Retail Park, Cheltenham, Dunelm Mill is donating £100 to 100 local charities throughout the UK.

  • Sharon Cudlip, Clinical Leader at the Macmillan Unit receives the PDU Accreditation from Linda Kaye, PDU Consultant at Bournemouth University.
  • Local MP Annette Brooke and her support for Beating Bowel Cancer's forthcoming campaign, Be Loud Be Clear.
  • Artists, students and local people gather in Poole for the march to the KUBE gallery on the campus of The College in protest against the closure of the gallery at the end of the month.  Over 100 people attended the march.
  • Pupils of Sylvan First School, Poole made, borrowed and brought in a variety of hats to assembly to raise funds for the children of Haiti. Wear a hat to school day raised £325 for the disaster relief fund.
  • Children at Stower Provost School raised £220 for the Haiti earthquake appeal by having a non-uniform day.
  • Prospective parliamentary candidate Emily Gasson, the Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesperson for North Dorset, went on patrol with police in Verwood and the surrounding villages and she she found out firsthand how stretched Dorset police are.
  • A group of music-loving parents, staff and children joined together at Yarrells to present an evening of French music.
