Dorset's young entrepeneurs recognised in Echo-backed Enterprise Challenge


Budding entrepreneurs have been recognised in the Daily Echo backed Enterprise Challenge 2010 organised by Enterprise & Skills Company in Wimborne and sponsored by Bournemouth University.

Eight teams from three schools in Dorset participated with each setting up a business. They were mentored by local businesses including Handelsbanken, the bank in Bournemouth, Humphries Kirk, the Dorset solicitors and Dek, the engineering firm in Weymouth.

All generated a profit by selling their products at local trade fairs.

The businesses were: Hurrikane and Zest from Parkstone Grammar School, On the Cusp, Carosel, Reciprocal and Wavelength all from Bournemouth School for Girls and Pure Innovation and Next Dekade from Corfe Hills School.

Reciprocal, which sold keyrings and air horns recorded the highest profit of £782 followed by Wavelength, which offered face painting and soap, making £516 profit.
