FREE school meals will be easier to obtain in Dorset, thanks to a new application process.
Dorset County Council fears that many children may be missing out on the benefit of school meals because parents find the application process difficult.
From now on, applications will be dealt with in 24 hours and parents will not need to re-apply each successive year.
“Our continued drive to make services more efficient now means that parents will only apply once to register for free school meals and they can be reassured that the process will be much quicker, allowing their children to benefit much earlier,” said cabinet member for children and young people, Toni Coombs.
