| Smokey Robinson |
MOTOWN legend Smokey Robinson has just hit the UK for his first tour in more than a decade.
The sweet-voiced troubador and inspiration to a generation shot to fame in the '60s with a string of classic hits like The Tracks of My Tears and Tears of a Clown.
This current tour finds the great American singer playing London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday, June 27. How do you follow that? Easy, you head for the beautiful south and, more specifically, the Bournemouth International Centre where he's playing on Thursday, June 28.
And he's looking forward to it. A couple of weeks back he told the Echo's Nick Churchill: "Performing is what I love most about this life, when I get out there and have a chance to go one on one with the people, oh man!
"I don't give concerts for people, I do concerts with people."
Smokey only gave one interview to a British newspaper ahead of this tour and he chose the Daily Echo. Click the listen icon at the top of this story to hear a special podcast of what he had to say, and look out for the Echo's Magazine on Saturday (June 23) for a special feature on Smokey.
