A WEATHER warning for ice has been issued for parts of Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

The Met Office have put out the yellow 'be aware' alert yesterday, valid from 7pm on Sunday until 9am on Monday.

A spokesperson said: "Icy patches are expected to form on untreated surfaces during Sunday evening and night onwards into the Monday morning rush hour, especially on untreated surfaces and where showers occur after dark.

"Please be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions and slippery surfaces."

The chief forecaster added: "Clear skies will allow temperatures to fall widely below freezing allowing icy patches to develop, particularly on untreated surfaces or where overnight wintry showers wash off earlier road treatment."
